More About Kim

As the founder of 8 Hands Healing for more than 32 years, I've had the privilege of working with thousands of people seeking relief from pain, stress, injury, burnout, and recurring patterns that kept them from living the life they wanted.

Early in my career, I believed my work was primarily about helping people feel better physically. But over time, I began noticing something deeper.

Again and again, I saw how the body was connected to our emotions, thoughts, beliefs, relationships, and life experiences. Pain may begin with an injury, but stress, emotions, and patterns learned or absorbed earlier in life can also show up in the body as pain.

This led me to spend decades studying advanced bodywork, nervous system regulation, communication skills, emotional well-being, and the beliefs and patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others—not because I was searching for one perfect technique, but because I wanted to better support the whole person.

What Guides My Work

My philosophy

Over the years, I've discovered that meaningful change rarely begins by trying harder. It begins by noticing.

Noticing what your body is communicating. Noticing the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns shaping your choices. Noticing what you need.

As you notice more clearly, you can reconnect with yourself. From there, new choices become possible.

Whether I'm providing bodywork, facilitating Heart-Centered Therapy, teaching a course, leading a workshop, working through (Re)Parenting Empowerment, or speaking to a room of professionals, my purpose remains the same:

To help people relate differently—to themselves, their bodies, and the people around them.

Notice • Reconnect • Choose

Extending the Work Beyond the Treatment Room

As my work evolved, I became increasingly curious about the patterns we carry with us—especially those we learned or absorbed long before we had the awareness or ability to have choice.

That curiosity eventually led to (Re)Parenting Empowerment, which I co-founded with Meg Judge.

Together, we help you recognize how past experiences may still influence the way you relate to yourself, respond to stress and emotions, navigate relationships, and set boundaries today.

Reparenting work isn't about blaming the past or fixing who you are. It's about becoming aware of what you learned or absorbed growing up, meeting yourself with compassion, and recognizing the choices you have now.

In many ways, the two approaches that guide my work naturally support one another:

Notice creates Awareness. — We begin by recognizing what is happening in our body, thoughts, emotions, and patterns.

Reconnect is supported by Compassion. — Instead of criticizing or judging what we notice, we become curious about what we may need and learn to relate to ourselves differently.

Choose reminds us we have Choice. — We recognize that the strategies we learned earlier in life may not support us today.

Through retreats, workshops, professional trainings, and experiential learning, (Re)Parenting Empowerment offers practical tools to help people create healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Although (Re)Parenting Empowerment is a separate collaborative part of my work, it grows from the same philosophy that guides everything I do:

Notice • Reconnect • Choose

and through Re(Parenting) Empowerment:

Awareness • Compassion • Choice

Different language. The same invitation: notice what is happening, reconnect with yourself, and recognize that you have more choices now.

A Lifelong Student

I believe learning is a lifelong journey. The human body—and the person living within it—is far too complex for one technique or one perspective to have every answer. Continuing to study allows me to bring greater curiosity, skill, and flexibility to each person I work with.

My goal isn't to fit you into a particular method. It's to draw from decades of experience and training to find what may be most supportive for you, in each session.

Beyond the Work

When I'm not working with clients or teaching, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, paddleboarding, biking, dancing, gardening, or enjoying the beauty of nature.

Whether you're looking for physical relief, emotional support, or practical tools for everyday life, I'd be honored to support your next step.
