Wondering how your childhood affects your life now? Need a new perspective on parenting? Feeling alone on your journey? Receive your 90-minute pre-recorded intro to (re)parenting. (Re)Parenting is a powerful process of identifying what we need and learning how to support ourselves. When we didn’t get what we needed as children, it affects the relationships we have with others in our adult life. Among other things, our upbringing, our internal beliefs, and our understanding of how we receive love affects relationships with significant others, parents, children, friends, and even co-workers. Even if we feel we had loving, supportive parents, societal messaging and other interactions from our past can influence us as well. We may notice repetitive patterns in our relationships, or find ourselves getting triggered in certain situations. There are many ways these beliefs show up in our lives. This workshop is an intro into the topic of reparenting ourselves so we can acknowledge our needs AND interact with others in informed and connective ways. In this workshop we begin to look at why we react in the ways that we do in difficult situations and we give some tools to start to identify those programmed reactions and patterns. We provide:
- Information on (re)parenting and how it impacts all relationships
- Easily implementable tools for difficult situations
- Tools for self-regulation
- Help to identify barriers to connective relationship
